MOJO Industries and Representations

MOJO Industries and Representations

How many people are in MOJO:
Men:311
Female:73
Ethnic minorities:73
Loyal fans are male and so the magazine appeals more to men.

This is an unfair representation due to their being way more men than female. As well as that their are may more white people then any other ethnic group. This conforms to the stereotype of white men listening to rock, rather then women.

How may different audiences interpret the magazine differently and how may these differences reflect individual and social differences?
A black man may interpret the magazine in a different way to a white man due to the magazine mainly only presented white men. This may make the black man not be able to identify with the magazine although he likes rock music and feel as though he cannot be part of the rock community due to this lack of diverse. As well as that, a girl may interpret the magazine differently to a boy. This is due to men being far more represented than women within the magazine. This may make the women feel as though she does not belong in this genre.

Advertisements
Brands are at the beginning of the magazine due to that being when the readers have full attention and concentration.
They use this platform to promote their other platforms.
Artists may pay mojo to feature them for their new alums and so funds the company and future editions of the magazine.
Advertise things such as furniture due to furniture appealing to the higher class as they are predominantly rich and so own a home.
