Audience's today consume music videos for uses and gratifications. This could stem from them receiving entertainment, filling time and taking them out of the real world. Information could be taken from the videos if they reflect the world.

As well as that, Active audiences may take personal identity from the video, identifying with the star, whether that may be their attitude, behaviour or fashion sense. It could be personal relationships. This could be just making conversation between friends, or building a relationship with the star. This occurs when following their social media, buying their products or watching their shows.

Male gaze theory-

ALL media products are made for heterosexual males. Women costumes are often tighter, shorter and more revealing. For example this advert is for men, a an is clothed and wearing a suit connoting success. The worm is naked, there to attract men to look at he advert.

    1. In black magic the audience may use personal identity. This is due to them seeing the band as role models and aspiring to be like them, in this video, pretty and popular. As well as that, they may see them as icons and want to buy the clothes they are wearing due to it being a trendy outfit. Some may watch it for sexual gratification due to the good looking boys and girls as well as the revealing outfits.
